Weekly English Tasks (plus daily reading)

Y1 Writing Unit (It is labelled as a Y2 unit but it is also suitable for Y1s)
Y2 Writing Unit (It is labelled as a Y3 unit but it is also suitable for Y2s)

Spellings  - Common exception words
For the rest of this half term I would like the children to recap the set of tricky words it is expected for their year group to be able to spell by the end of the year. This is a chance to not only recap spellings but also work on handwriting too. Each week I would suggest a child does 1 page each from the booklets

Weekly Wider Curriculum Tasks

Geography - Now you know a little about which places are hot and cold in the world. I want you to choose one hot country to learn more about.  Where is it? How would you travel there and how long would it take? What can you learn about the people, language, money, lifestyle, famous landmarks, things to do. How is it the same or different to Great Britain?
Present it in whatever way you want e.g. PowerPoint, poster, booklet, video.

Science - Endangered Animals  - Endangered Animals Read through the Power Point then if you want do the research and share it with people at home.

DT - Evaluate - For this final DT session I want you to have a look at what you made (and send me a picture so I can show all your friends) then look at this evaluation sheet and decide how you did.

PSHE - Mrs Whisker has shared some lovely Archie resources looking at different values the first one is all about exploring teamwork

Story: A red, white and blue paint job on the Prime Minister's plane has recently been revealed.

Question: How important are first impressions?

RE Ongoing Task

We would like you to learn more about the Churches in your local area.
What are they called? How are they the same and how are they different?
Think about why they are special to some people. Talk to people who have been inside to find out more about what is the same and different inside and why that might be.
Can you work out what all or most Churches seem to have?
You could also research 1 or more of the Churches and find about their history
or even do some Art or DT work inspired by them.
